Cricket has been played on Hartley’s picturesque ground for more than 75 years and during the past decade the section has gone from strength to strength. Two excellent squares facilitate Kent League cricket for the Saturday 1st, 2nd and 4th teams and Kent Feeder League cricket for the 3rd and 5th elevens.
The 1st XI has been particularly successful in recent years culminating in winning the Kent Premier League title at the first attempt in 2008. Since then the title has been won again in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. Our 2nd XI who also play in the Kent Premier division finished runners-up in 2016, We have friendly and competitive Sunday fixtures, whilst mid-week there are also friendly fixtures played both home and away. Colts fixtures are also played during the week and youngsters of all ages are encouraged with regular coaching sessions by ECB qualified coaches which includes the use of our own outdoor net facilities.
As a Club we are always trying to upgrade our facilities and in the past few years we have been able to purchase new sight screens, electronic scoreboard and roll-on covers for the main square. Whilst our 2nd square also has roll-on covers. Added to this excellent all weather practice facilities.
New players are always welcome, as are anyone interested in umpiring or scoring for one of the teams. A warm welcome is extended to all.
